| Flammable substances and materials are divided into three groups: non-combustible, slow-burning and combustible.
Non-combustible substance (material, construction) is unable to burn.
A slow-burning substance (material, structure) is able to burn under the influence of an ignition source, but cannot burn independently after its removal.
Combustible substance (material, construction) is able to burn even after removal of the ignition source. Flammable combustible substances can ignite only under the influence of a powerful ignition source. Flammable combustible substances can ignite from short-term exposure to low energy ignition sources (flame, sparks).
