| What methods of substance transfer through the plasma membrane are known to you? Give examples of substances entering the cell in one way or another.
There are several mechanisms for the transport of substances through the plasma membrane: diffusion, osmosis, active transport, endocytosis and exocytosis. Small uncharged molecules and fat-soluble substances enter the cell diffusely. So, molecules of oxygen (02), carbon dioxide (CO2) of ethyl alcohol (C2H6OH) easily diffuse through the lipid bilayer. Osmosis: For example, if you put a cell in a hypertonic solution with a higher concentration of salts, then the water from the cell will enter the intercellular space
