What part of the countries of Southeast Asia is now part of the Islamic world? What events contributed to this?

Islam now predominates in the eastern part of the Indies (Bangladesh), in Malaya and in the coastal regions of Indonesia, wherever Muslim sailors followed Indian sailors. The interior regions of Indonesia and all of Indochina have not been significantly influenced by Islam.
