What periods are allocated in the development of germ cells?

In the process of gametogenesis (the formation of germ cells), four stages are distinguished.
1. The reproduction period is characterized by mitotic division of primary germ cells; while increasing their number.
2. The growth period is to increase the size of the cell. At the end of the period, DNA reduplication occurs in interphase I. The cell formula becomes 2n4c.
3. Ripening period (meiosis). During meiosis, cells divide twice.
4. The period of formation is the acquisition by the cell of the appropriate shape and size necessary to perform specific functions.
