What positive and negative consequences of the “meeting of the worlds” manifested themselves in the history of Latin America in the 19th c?

Negative: Hotbeds of ancient Indian culture died
On the positive side, the meeting of such diverse cultures marked the beginning of the birth of Latin American society.
There was a direct “collision” of two worlds – the world of the Indians with the world of the Spaniards and the Portuguese. The relationship could not develop amicably – the gap in the level of development was too great. Colonization, during which the centers of the ancient culture of the Indians perished, continued until the middle of the 17th century. And nevertheless, faced with the world of the Indians, the Spanish and Portuguese conquista was forced to come to terms with the preservation of some elements of their culture, communal orders, and the Indians eventually adopted some of the features of Spanish culture and Christianity. The meeting of these different cultures marked the beginning of the birth of Latin American society.
