1) In the G1-period (presynthetic period) RNA synthesis takes place: mRNA – transcription, rRNA, tRNA – necessary for protein biosynthesis), preparation for doubling DNA molecules is in progress.
2) In the S-period – there is a doubling of DNA (or DNA replication)
3) In the G2-period (postsynthetic period), the binding of DNA strands to proteins by histones begins, DNA spiralization begins (which ends in prophase)
