What “professions” in the state of the Ottoman Turks were occupied by the native Turks, what posts were given to the Greeks, what were to the Western Europeans?
Indigenous Turks are military leaders and rulers, less often – pastoralists or farmers, Greeks and Armenians – officials, artisans or merchants, “Franks” – engineers, architects or officers in the army.
