What reasons contributed to the consolidation of the first amphibians on land?

The ancient ancestors of amphibians were the descendants of the cross-finned stegocephalic fish – inhabitants of swampy bodies of water. They breathed lightly, moved on their limbs. When some reservoirs dried up, they crawled into others. The warm humid climate of that time (300 million years ago), the absence of land-based predators contributed to the anchoring of ancient amphibians on land.
