What should be done to prevent contamination of wounds?

All wounds, except operating ones, are considered primarily infected. Microbes enter the wound along with a wounding object, ground, pieces of clothing, from the air and when you touch the wound with your hands. Microbes that have fallen into the wound can cause suppuration and various complications. The main measure for the prevention of wound contamination is the rapid application of an aseptic dressing on it, preventing the further entry of microbes into the wound.
