| During gravitational collapse, a star with a mass of 1 – 3 solar masses is compressed to the size of a sphere with a diameter of 10 km. In this case, the substance is neutronized, that is, the transformation of protons and electrons into neutrons. In this state, stars are called neutron stars. Under certain conditions, neutron stars are observed as pulsars. The matter of such stars is in a superdense state.
