What structural elements does our Galaxy consist of? What are their sizes and shapes?

Astronomers distinguish three ocular structural elements in the Galaxy. disk, spherical subsystem and halo. The disk contains about 100 billion stars, including the Sun. In the disk, a central seal is distinguished – a baldge – and spiral branches extending from it. The spherical subsystem of the Galaxy contains about 100 billion stars. Many of them form globular clusters of stars. The size of the halo containing the disk with a spherical subsystem is 10 times the size of the disk. There are no stars in the halo. It is made up of so-called dark matter. The halo mass is about 10 times the total mass of all stars in the Galaxy.
