What were Newton’s ideas about light? How were the corpuscular and wave theories of light combined in them?

| He believed that luminous bodies emit rays of light, which are a stream of small particles (corpuscles), the direction of movement of which changes when passing from one medium to another. Newton considered the phenomenon of dispersion discovered by him as a justification for this. At the same time, he believed that if a flux of light corpuscles falls on a body, then a wave is excited in the ether filling the gaps between the particles of the body.
