When and why did the exchange of labor products and trade arise?

At the end of the second – beginning of the first millennium BC, the improvement of tools of labor led to the development of agriculture, animal husbandry and crafts, which, in turn, led to the emergence of surplus products. Thus, the exchange of products of labor and trade arose.
