Which galaxies are closest to our Galaxy?

| The nearest galaxy is the satellite of our Galaxy, the Large Magellanic Cloud. It is located at a distance of 52 kpc from the center of the Galaxy. Visible in the southern hemisphere, in the constellation Dorado.
A little further away is another satellite of the Galaxy – the Small Magellanic Cloud. The distance to it is 69 kpc. This galaxy is visible in the constellation Toucan. Both galaxies are irregular.
