| At a distance equal to the radius of the lunar orbit, the Earth’s shadow has a diameter that is much larger than the size of the Moon. Therefore, there can be no annular lunar eclipse. The other three types of eclipses listed in the problem statement (total solar, annular solar and total lunar) are possible and periodically observed on our planet.
