Which of the leaders of the English Revolution can be called a reformer, some a conservative, some a revolutionary, some a reactionary? Is it true that one of these “professions” had more success than the others?
Reformers – Elliot, Pym, Wentworth; conservatives – Fairfax, Charles II, Monk; revolutionaries – Lilburn, Cromwell, Garrison, Sexby; reactionaries – Charles 1, Buckingham, Prince Rupert, Jacob II.
