Which scientists were the first to carry out the fission of uranium nuclei?

For the first time, nuclear fission was carried out in 1938 by German scientists Otto Hahn (1879-1968) and Fritz Strassmann (1902-1980) when the nuclei of the uranium isotope were bombarded with neutrons.
