Which two beams of light are needed to render images in thin lenses?

| To construct an image of an object, only two light rays are sufficient, for which their course after exiting the lens is known. It is a beam parallel to the main optical axis of the lens that travels through the lens, crossing the optical axis at the main focus. The second ray passes through the optical center of the lens and does not change its direction.
