Who was Solon? What did he do with the debtors? How have demos rights changed? What is the National Assembly? What does the concept of “democracy” mean?

Solon was a politician, poet and sage of the Athenian state. In 594 BC  he began his reforms in this state. First of all, he freed all debtors from bondage – debt slavery. All citizens of the state began to participate in the elections of the main body of power and judges, could attend any court hearings. Thus, Solon’s reforms laid the foundations of democracy, i.e. the power of the demos.

Remember: The process of learning a person lasts a lifetime. The value of the same knowledge for different people may be different, it is determined by their individual characteristics and needs. Therefore, knowledge is always needed at any age and position.
