Who were the first settler colonists? What were the motives behind their migration to the New World?

First settlers-colonists:
1) English Puritans, Dutch Calvinists, Huguenots from France, German Protestants – hoped to find refuge in America from persecution, wanted to freely preach their views there;
2) bankrupt peasants – hoped to get land in the New World;
3) criminals – work in colonies made it possible to start a free life;
4) entrepreneurs, adventurers – hoped to get rich in the colonies.

Remember: The process of learning a person lasts a lifetime. The value of the same knowledge for different people may be different, it is determined by their individual characteristics and needs. Therefore, knowledge is always needed at any age and position.
