Why are dark-colored reptiles more common in cold regions, and light-colored in southern regions?

1) Reptiles are cold-blooded and their activity depends on the ambient temperature.
2) Dark color absorbs heat better, therefore in cold zones reptiles are dark-colored,
3) In the south it is warm, therefore reptiles are light-colored.
