| Why are tension lines used to study electric fields, tangents to which at each point coincide with the direction of the tension vectors, and not arrows of different lengths?
The electric field in space is characterized using vectors of intensity. These vectors are depicted at various points in the form of arrows. The arrows are longer at those points where the electric field strength is greater. This method is inconvenient because when drawing vectors at many points of the field, the drawing is completely filled with arrows and loses its expressiveness.
