Why are there “hatches” at the average distances of minor planets from the Sun?

Asteroids avoid average distances at which their periods of revolution around the Sun are comparable to those of Jupiter (T = 1/2, 2/5, 1/3 Tyu). The “hatches” are associated with the disturbing influence of Jupiter.
