Why can not modern human apes be considered direct ancestors of man?

Paleontologists found that the evolutionary branches of humans and chimpanzees diverged 6-7 million years ago, and the gorilla line separated from the common trunk even earlier – 7-10 million years ago. Today, there are significant differences between modern apes and humans. These branches evolved into separate branches and have survived to this day.
