Why, despite the difficult living conditions, in North Korea there were no mass protests against the rule of Kii Il Sung?

Because of the authoritarian regime in the country. People lived in fear because every North Korean was under constant control of the security service and party organization. The North Korean propaganda that North Koreans live the best in the world was competently composed. But in fact, each resident was given food products according to a strict norm and in order to leave the place of residence it was necessary to obtain a special permit. The North Korean’s standard of living was indeed very low, but mass protests against Kim Il Sung’s rule did not take place out of fear and lack of confidence in their own strengths.
