The Khitan and Mongols are steppe people, they spoke close languages and were considered relatives. Chzhurchzheni – inhabitants of the forests of the Amur region, farmers. Having seized China, they also oppressed the steppe dwellers and Khitan as the indigenous Chinese (Han).
