| Thanks to the Hildebrand reform (XI century), the Catholic Church became the leading estate of European society (priests are not subject to the court of the laity, only they receive the full communion). In addition, the church is completely centralized around Rome. The Hussites demand that communion for the laity and the clergy be the same – bread and wine, which abolishes the privileges of the clergy. They demand the creation of their own national church – this is undermining the authority of Rome over other churchmen. If the Pope agrees with this, he will only become “the first among equals”, as it was before Hildebrand.
