The majority in the National Assembly were monarchists who dreamed of restoring the monarchy. But, fortunately for the republicans, there was no unity among the monarchists. Supporters of the Bourbons, the Orleans dynasty and the Bonapartists squabbled among themselves – they could not agree which dynasty should lead France. This was one of the reasons that saved the republic. The bulk of the peasants, workers and middle strata did not want the restoration of the monarchy.
Remember: The process of learning a person lasts a lifetime. The value of the same knowledge for different people may be different, it is determined by their individual characteristics and needs. Therefore, knowledge is always needed at any age and position.
