Why do many organisms under favorable conditions reproduce asexually, and under adverse conditions pass to sexual reproduction

Under favorable environmental conditions, the body does not need to adapt to changes in the environment, therefore it is less energy-intensive to propagate asexually, reproducing its own kind. Under adverse environmental conditions, organisms reproduce sexually, thereby forming a new generation of genetic diversity, which allows them to adapt to new environmental conditions.
