Why do marine and parasitic protozoa lack contractile vacuoles?

1) the contractile vacuole removes excess water from the cells of freshwater protozoa, since the concentration of substances in their body must be higher than in water;
2) marine and parasitic protozoa are found in an environment where the concentration of substances is higher than in their body (cell).
