Why is an artificial ecosystem an unstable community?

The main feature of artificial ecosystems is their instability. They cannot exist without human participation, since the grown plants cannot withstand competition with wild species, they need to be fed, watered, protected from pests and pathogens. In addition, the dominant crop may die as a result of the spread of diseases or the reproduction of pests. Therefore, a person is forced to create favorable conditions for her: to cultivate the soil, apply fertilizers, water, destroy pests and weeds.
