Heat is released not only in the load (light bulb, electric motor), but also in the lead wires and the source. At low currents, this heat is very small, but at significant currents, it increases sharply (Q – I ^ 2 Rt), the wiring heats up a lot, which can lead to a fire. Particularly strong heating will be in places of poor wire connections (plugs, sockets).
