| Why is it that the farther we want to launch an artificial satellite, the greater the initial velocity should be given to it, but the closer the satellite turns to the Earth, the shorter the period of its revolution?
Because a higher horizontal launch speed corresponds to a large orbit, along which the movement is slower and the path is longer – all this requires more time per revolution.
