Why is substance abuse harmful? Why is it dangerous to inhale chemicals?

Substance abuse is harmful as a form of drug addiction. Chemicals entering the nasal cavity are a signal of danger for the body and cause protective reflexes – sneezing, coughing and the desire to leave the area where this smell is spread. Regular inhalation of chemicals blocks these protective reactions, is addictive and can be fatal.
