Why is the biosphere called a biosystem?

All living things and every living organism are connected with the environment by the biological circulation of substances and the flow of energy. By consuming and releasing substances and energy, organisms have an impact on the environment by the very fact that they live. The impact on the environment of an individual is usually small and hardly noticeable, but the whole set of organisms turns out to be a powerful force that transforms the earth’s surface. Therefore, the biosphere is called a biosystem.
