Why is the gene pool of the population constantly changing?

The gene pool of a population is constantly changing under the influence of various environmental factors. Firstly, this is due to mutational variability of the genotypes themselves, which form the gene pool. Secondly, the gene pool can directionally change under the influence of selection. In different groups of organisms, the variability of the gene pool is different, but in general it is quite high.
