Why is the level called population-specific, and not just specific or population?

| The manifestation of the properties of a population is directly reflected in the properties of a species (as properties of a part as a whole and vice versa); therefore, this structural level of organization of living matter is called population-specific. There is an enormous variety of species in nature. They can be representatives of one or another kingdom of living nature. However, they all reflect the properties of one and the same structural level of life organization – population-specific.
