Why is the state pursuing antimonopoly policy?

| In order to protect the interests of consumers, the state in a market economy pursues an antimonopoly policy, since the monopolist is able to control the price of the sold product or service.
The essence of the antimonopoly policy is that it is aimed at promoting the development of product markets and competition, at preventing, limiting and suppressing monopolistic activities and unfair competition, at protecting consumers’ rights.
