Why was the colonial expansion of Japan in the 16th century not as successful as the expansion of Spain at the same time?

The Spanish conquista was successful in America among the “barbarians” – the Indians. Japan did not have such barbarians next to it and conducted its “conquest” in Korea and China – countries of approximately the same cultural level.

Remember: The process of learning a person lasts a lifetime. The value of the same knowledge for different people may be different, it is determined by their individual characteristics and needs. Therefore, knowledge is always needed at any age and position.
