Why, when the satellites of Jupiter pass through its disk, at the edges of the disk, the satellites seem to be light points, and in the middle of the disk – dark?
Two factors contribute to this phenomenon: the lower reflectivity of the satellites compared to the planet’s surface and the darkening of Jupiter’s disk towards the edge.
