Will there be an EMF of induction in a conducting rod vertically located at the Earth’s equator if it is moved in the Earth’s magnetic field from west to east?
Yes, it will. The Earth’s magnetic field at the equator is practically parallel to the Earth’s surface and directed perpendicular to the equator, therefore, when the conductor moves along the equator, an induction EMF will appear in it.
