Conditions of the Peace of Westphalia:
1) France received Alsace;
2) The indemnity was paid to Sweden. She received extensive possessions in the Baltic. The most important trade routes of Germany were in the hands of the Swedes;
3) Holland became independent from Spain;
4) the German princes turned into unlimited monarchs on their lands, received the right to enter into alliances with each other and foreign states;
5) Catholicism and Protestantism were recognized as equal, the principle was abolished: “Whose land, that is faith …”

Results of the Thirty Years War. The Holy Roman Empire actually disintegrated into a number of independent principalities, which prevented the national unification of Germany. Religious contradictions in Europe in foreign policy faded into the background.
