A 4 MB file is transferred over a connection in 16 seconds. Determine the time in seconds it takes to transfer a 2048 KB file over the same connection.
Size of the transferred file = transfer time · transfer rate. Note that the file size in the second case is 4/2 = 2 times less than the file size in the first case. Since the file transfer rate is the same, the time it takes to transfer a 2048 KB file over the same connection is also 2 times less. It will be equal to 16/2 = 8 seconds.
