After what circumnavigation did James Cook announce the discovery of a new mainland?

After the first circumnavigation of the world, James Cook brought a tremendous load of new knowledge. However, Cook did not open Australia, the Dutch did it for him about half a century before. The land was called New Holland, and they described the northwest coast. Cook reached Australia from the southeast coast, then decided to explore the coast, sailing along it towards the equator. The coastline was carefully mapped, and Cook himself described many new plant species. In general, Cook’s first trip was very successful.
