| An aluminum cube weighing 3 kg lies on a horizontal steel plate. Will the cube start to move if a force is applied to it, the modulus of which is 10 N? The friction coefficient is 0.61.
Maximum frictional force of the cube on the plate:
E = uN
Where is the reaction force of the support:
N = mg
We get:
F = umg = 0.61 * 3 * 10 = 18.3 N
Tk, the applied force is less than the maximum static friction force, then the cube will not move.
