| Before sowing a field or planting a vegetable garden, the soil is plowed or dug up. What is the importance of plowing and digging land for the life of cultivated plants?
1) Digging and plowing destroys most weeds by destroying their root systems.
2) By destroying weeds, man relieves cultivated plants from competition and interspecific struggle against weeds for water, mineral salts and solar energy.
3) Digging and plowing mix the soil and evenly distribute humus in it, so the roots of cultivated plants can be located deeper.
4) Digging and plowing loosens the soil and makes it easily permeable to air and water.
