How do fuses work? Explain their effect.

The main part of the fuse is a low-melting metal wire. It is placed in a glass tube with two metal tips at the ends. The wire is designed for a certain current strength. If the current exceeds the permissible value, then the wire melts and the circuit opens. The fuse is included in series in the electrical circuit.
