| How many blastomeres does the human embryo contain after the fifth stage of cleavage? How many chromosomes are there in each blastomere? What is the name of the embryo at this stage of development?
cleavage is a series of consecutive, synchronously occurring mitotic divisions, first of the zygote, and then of all its descendants. The zygote arises as a result of the fusion of two germ cells that have a haploid set of chromosomes, which in humans is 23, and therefore contains 46 chromosomes. Since divisions are mitotic, all blastomeres retain a diploid set of 46 chromosomes. The number of cells after five stages of cleavage is determined as 25, that is, equal to 32. The stage is called morula.
