| Stars of the 2nd magnitude will be brighter. The difference of one magnitude is 2.512 times, if in two magnitudes then 2.512 ^ 2 = 6.3 times, etc. We know that if the difference between 2 stars is 5m, then the stars will differ in brightness by 100 times. This means that the stars of the 2nd magnitude are brighter than the stars of the 7th magnitude by 2.512 ^ 5 = 100 times.
