In the Strait of Magellan, latitude –60o (S), a star was observed with an hour angle t = 20h, and a polar distance p = 15o from the south pole of the world. Find the height and azimuth of this star.
We have an hour angle t = 20h = 300o. We get:
Height h = NKM = 75o. Azimuth A = NSK = 25o East.
